PCBF was founded in 2017 when a group of community members banded together to raise money to post bail to free Black mothers and caregivers who were imprisoned because they could not afford to pay bail. Since then, we've freed 177 Black mamas and caregivers and posted $1.9 million in ransom.
This will be our 7th Black Mama's Bail Out and we hope to raise $100,000 to free Black mamas and caregivers. Every dollar you donate now until Sunday May 12th will help us reunite a Black family.

Help Free Our Neighbors
Your support of our work helps us to free our neighbors who are imprisoned pretrial because they cannot afford to pay for their freedom. Sometimes that bail is as low as $30 to post while our most common posted bail is $10,000. Your support will help many people as we are a revolving bail fund. Posted bail returns to the fund at the conclusion of a case enabling us to use that money to free another neighbor.
In addition to posting bail, we also offer mutual aid and support to help people return to court while being able to rebuild their lives as they wait for their day in court. That help includes things like paying overdue rent so that people can keep their housing, purchasing school supplies and baby goods, paying past due utility bills, transportation assistance, and paying court fines and fees. We also connect people to counseling, substance abuse support, education programs, housing, employment and Participatory Defense.
Your donation is also tax deductible as we are fiscally sponsored by the Movement Alliance Project (EIN 26-0307123).
